Former One&Only Reethi Rah head Jean-Luc Naret joins Aman for Amanolu

Jean-Luc Naret has started work with Aman on Amanolu, the group's first project in the Maldives, he announced in a LinkedIn post on 3 November 2026, the day his role officially began.

Naret is a hospitality executive who formerly led One&Only Reethi Rah in the Maldives.

The resort plan

According to Aman's website, Amanolu is located in Vaavu Atoll, on the far eastern edge of the Maldivian archipelago. The development combines a resort of 52 keys with 16 Aman Residences, each on a private island.

  • Every residence occupies its own island, has five bedrooms and follows either a Single Beach or Double Beach layout.
  • Residences come with a 25-metre swimming pool and a private berth for guests arriving by sea.
  • The Aman Spa and its signature Spa Houses are on a dedicated wellness island.
  • A separate activity island is home to the Beach Club, Racquet Club, Water Sports Pavilion and Dive Centre.
  • Restaurants and social spaces include Arva, Nura Beach Club and Akari.

Access and timing

Aman says the trip from Malé takes about 25 minutes by seaplane or 90 minutes by speedboat.

The stated opening dates differ. Aman's website gives 2028, while Naret's LinkedIn post mentioned late 2027. Travellers should confirm the date through Aman's official channels.
