Aman's first venture in the Maldives has acquired an executive with experience of running a resort in the country. Jean-Luc Naret, who previously ran One&Only Reethi Rah, has joined the group to work on Amanolu; in a LinkedIn post on 3 November 2026, he said his role had formally begun that day.

Islands, residences and facilities

Amanolu sits in Vaavu Atoll, at the eastern extremity of the Maldivian archipelago, according to Aman's website. The plan comprises 16 Aman Residences, each on an island of its own, alongside a resort of 52 keys.

  • The residences have five bedrooms apiece and a 25-metre pool, plus its own berth for guests coming by sea, and follow either a Single Beach or a Double Beach layout.
  • The Aman Spa and its signature Spa Houses occupy a separate wellness island.
  • An activity island houses a Dive Centre, Water Sports Pavilion, Racquet Club and Beach Club.
  • Places to eat and gather include Akari, Arva and Nura Beach Club.

Access and opening date

Aman describes the transfer from Malé as a 25-minute seaplane flight or a 90-minute speedboat journey.

The two sources disagree on timing. Aman's website points to 2028, whereas Naret's LinkedIn post referred to late 2027. Travellers should confirm the date with Aman's official channels.
